The world appears stuck when viewed from the window of our own home. The COVID-19, at first look, seems to have dropped a deafening silence inside the offices. Stopping is right and it’s also a duty to better plan the restart. New companies and startups will be entrusted the task to catch the bright sides of the delicate socio-economics situation that we’re living.

CLab Trento wanted to seize this opportunity to reflect, participate and have a fresh start. During our smart working, we were committed to finding some useful tools to be able to seize the moment and see your projects realized.

And that’s why we want to tell you about the opportunity to get involved in “Industrio Day 2020 – The Hardware Revolution”. The Industrio Ventures event, scheduled for June in Trento, is aimed at future investors, startups, hardware e phygital entrepreneurs of Italy, business projects, university spinoffs and research centres that have not yet formed a startup. Structured in many talks with Industria 4.0 entrepreneurs and experts from all over Italy, workshops and networking moments, the Industrio Day will culminate in a nationwide startups competition. The sectors of interest will mainly be robots and automation, IoT and sensors for the industry, smart manufacturing e smart materials. We can’t just look at the production of big cities. After this pandemic, places with a low-density ratio will be perceived with a positive gaze; putting local preservation and regeneration back in the spotlight. Regeneration is the keyword of the new regional call, Generazioni, promoted by coop. soc. Young Inside and Inside and supported by the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano and the Region of Trentino Alto Adige/Südtyrol. Rebuild local contexts, enhancing villages and communities who live there. The proposals must be submitted by 12.00 on 11 May 2020 in the manner indicated by the call.

In the same direction, “Welfare, che impresa!” call is moving. The call, supported by Fondazione Italiana Accenture, Fondazione Bracco, UBI Banca, Fondazione Snam, Fondazione CON IL SUD, Fondazione Peppino Vismara, aims to welcome and promote, all those welfare projects developed by organizations capable of empowering the most fragile subjects, developing the local networks. The projects must be able to generate social impact, promoting the employment of vulnerable subjects and disadvantaged categories with social agriculture, enhancement and care of cultural heritage and landscape, restitution to the collective use of unused public goods or assets confiscated from organized crime for purposes of general interest and for local communities, solutions and actions to safeguard and improve conditions environmental and climatic conditions and/or aimed at limiting the supply of material and energy and minimizing waste and losses in the production and consumption processes. The digital and technologic support for these initiatives is welcome as long as it allows the development of a perspective of economic sustainability. Among the various prizes, there are grants, and 10 personalized mentorship sessions provided by one of the partner incubators (Polihub, Socialfare, G-Factor, Hubble, Campania NewSteel and Make a Cube).
