Innovation
is a challenge!Engage in a real experience and get trained in innovation management methodologies

Imagine 4-5 teams of 4 or 5 students from different disciplines and cultures competing to find the best solutions to challenges posed by corporations from different industries.

This is Innovation Olympics, and Trento was among the first universities in Continental Europe to offer this program to their students in Spring 2016.

For 10 weeks, you will cooperate with your teammates and compete with other teams to propose well grounded, creative and unique solutions. Experienced mentors and coaches will provide you expert guidance along with tools, training, and coaching to help you build more lasting innovation capability and leadership skills.

In the final event, the company will select the winning team, often offering internship opportunities (even to non-winners). The next winner of Innovation Olympics could be you!

It's an
Innovation Challenge

How does Innovation Olympics work? It's a challenge where you will follow a 10 weeks process to identify the next industry trends and develop novel business concepts for the company. Supported by mentors and driven by an innovation canvas software, you will produce outputs during five subsequent innovation management steps.

Innovation intent

Agree on where and where not to innovate; define growth targets and strategic thrusts for breakthrough innovations; understand investment profile.

Opportunity insights

Identify insights and trends around the company, competitors, partners; organize and structure ideas in a Business Opportunity Map.

Fields of play

Use lateral thinking and brainstorming to develop new ideas; offer a wide range of proposals, from more traditional to disruptive ideas; organize ideas into applicable fields of play.

Business concept

Focus on the assigned Field of Play; turn the FoP into a sound and applicable Business Concept; conduct some initial due diligence to validate the priority concept.

Business case

Fine-tune the Business Concept; summarize the business concept in a compelling and insightful way; meet your organization’s conditions for new business development.
